KENCANA Petroleum Bhd (5122), through its wholly-owned subsidiary Kencana Petroleum Ventures Sdn Bhd (KPV), is acquiring equity in Mermaid Kencana Rig 1 Pte Ltd (MKR1), Kencana Mermaid Drilling Sdn Bhd (KMD) and MermaidKencana Rigs (Labuan) Pte Ltd (MKR Labuan) from Mermaid Drilling (Singapore) Pte Ltd, together with intercompany loans and debts, for US$66.6 million (RM213.12 million).

The equity acquisition – 75 per cent in MKR1, 40 per cent in KMD and 45 per cent in MKR Labuan – amount to US$43.65 million.

KPV will also pay Mermaid Drilling Singapore US$22.95 million (RM73.44 million) to settle intercompany loans viagra price and debts in the three companies.

Bina limbungan di Bagan Datoh, wujudkan 5,000 peluang pekerjaan

NGV Tech Sdn Bhd (NGV Tech), syarikat milik penuh Bumiputera akan melabur RM620 juta untuk membina limbungan dan pusat penyelenggaraan kapal keluli di Bagan Datoh, Perak yang dijangka mampu mewujudkan sehingga 5,000 peluang pekerjaan.

Projek di muara Sungai Perak itu juga membabitkan pembinaan limbungan kering sebagai kawasan pemotongan kapal yang terbesar di dunia.

 

Ia akan dilaksanakan dalam dua fasa pembinaan yang mana membabitkan perbelanjaan berjumlah RM220 juta dan RM400 juta dalam tempoh tiga tahun.

 

Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Razak, berkata apabila projek itu bermula, Bagan Datoh yang selama ini dikenali sebagai ‘pekan koboi’ akan mengalami banyak perubahan termasuk pembinaan lebih banyak rumah kedai dan kediaman baru bagi menampung aktiviti dan peluang baru yang wujud di kawasan berkenaan.

“Saya diberitahu NGV Tech sehingga kini sudah membina lebih 157 kapal termasuk kapal peronda pantai dengan sebahagian besarnya dieksport ke pasaran antarabangsa seperti

Mesir, Yaman, Bahrain, Jepun, Kuwait dan Iran.

“Syarikat ini secara senyap-senyap, dengan kurang publisiti dan saya sendiri tidak mengetahui kewujudannya sehingga diberitahu, telah menunjukkan prospek dan masa depan yang sangat baik serta begitu membanggakan,” katanya ketika melancarkan projek pembinaan limbungan kapal itu di Bagan Datoh, Perak, semalam.

perhatian khas daripada kerajaan sebaliknya menerima kepercayaan daripada pelbagai pihak di luar negara membabitkan projek bernilai berbilion ringgit.

Justeru, katanya, jika kerajaan memberi peluang kepada NGV Tech, tiada sesiapa boleh mengatakan kerajaan memberi projek perniagaan kepada syarikat tempatan yang tidak berdaya maju.

“Kita tidak mahu beri (projek) kepada anak tempatan yang kemudian menjual kontrak itu kepada orang lain atau sub kepada orang lain kemudian lesap. Kita tidak akan iktiraf syarikat seperti ini,” katanya.

Najib berkata, kejayaan Model Ekonomi Baru (MEB) berpaksi kepada syarikat tempatan termasuk dimiliki Bumiputera yang ada potensi berjaya bukan saja
di Malaysia tetapi rantau ini dan antarabangsa.

Sementara itu, Zulkifli berkata, pihaknya memilih Bagan Datoh sebagai tapak limbungan berkeupayaan membina kapal sehingga 250 meter panjang, kerana kedudukan strategik di tengah laluan kapal Selat Melaka selain lautnya dalam.

Katanya, walaupun limbungan baru di Bagan Datoh siap nanti, namun limbungan sedia ada di Sijangkang, Selangor, bernilai RM300 juta kekal sebagai tempat membina kapal aluminium. Ia juga katanya, akan diperbesarkan menjadi limbungan kapal aluminium terbesar di dunia.

Handal to expand capacity by 3-fold at new RM14m yard

HANDAL Resources Bhd (7253), an integrated offshore crane service and manufacturing provider in the oil and gas industry, expects to increase productivity by threefold at its new RM14 million yard.

Mohsin said the company recorded encouraging results in the financial year ended December 31 2009, mainly as a result of good performance by its subsidiary Handal Offshore Services.

2008,” he said.

Jotun sees 2010 turnover growing 10pc

Jotun Malaysia Sdn Bhd expects its turnover to grow by 10 per cent this year to RM325 million from RM295 million last year.

“The company, which is part of the Jotun AS of Norway, contributed five per cent of the group’s total operating revenue outside Norway of US$82 million last year,” said regional director for South-East Asia and managing director for Malaysia, Peder Bohlin.

Bohlin said this at the launch of the Majestic Ecohealth range of paints in Shah Alam today.

He said the new paints would be sold at between RM120 and RM135 for a five-litre can and Jotun expected to record sales of more than RM30 million in the next 12 months.
